During the
initial license period of most of the current
generation of nuclear power plants with pressurized
water reactors (PWR), replacement of steam
generators are required. Due
to configuration changes, and the desire
to increase performance, most nuclear plants
replace their thermal insulation systems
as well.
For fifty years Transco has engineered, fabricated and installed a variety of thermal insulation systems in nuclear power plants throughout the world that range from THERMAL WRAP ® Blanket and Metal-Reflective Insulation (MRI) to radiation shielded and hybrid encapsulated systems. Transco custom designed insulation systems are easily removed and reinstalled, tailored to specific geometry and facilitate the inspection needs of each generator. As the sole manufacturer of metal-reflective insulation in the U.S., Transco engages an experienced team of professionals and industry partners to complete steam generator replacements on time and within budget. Currently Transco nuclear grade insulation systems are installed in over 200 nuclear power plants in 15 countries, including every nuclear power facility in the U.S. |
