Transco Products Inc. offers a wide variety of gamma and neutron radiation shielding products for nuclear power applications that can be tailored to meet any customer need including architectural barriers and piping or equipment source term shielding. Transco’s specialty shielding product line provides solutions where other products may not meet the rigorous attenuation, aging, or design and application needs that are typical for these particular environments. Innovative designs can be manufactured from materials that range from more typical materials such as stainless steel, lead, carbon steel, and sand to less traditional materials that include specially engineered silicone polymer products and other types of resins.

Architectural Barriers
Gamma and/or neutron shield materials for sealing penetration openings in floors or walls around pipes or electrical raceways: These can serve multiple functions in conjunction with shielding including seals that serve as rated fire barriers; flood or ventilation Dp barriers; or security barriers.

Shielding Around Vessels
Encapsulated or bare neutron shielding products for reactor pressure vessels: Depending on customer needs, Transco can provide stainless steel encapsulated neutron shielding in complex shapes to maximize attenuation. The actual shielding (which can also be used without being encapsulated) can either be lead or a relatively hydrogen rich, high-temperature, boronated polymer. Flexible, high-tensile strength versions of this product are offered for applications where periodic removal is required for the purpose of equipment inspection.
