Penetration seals are essential to the integrity of boundaries that compartmentalize different areas of a typical nuclear power facility. They are required to contain and prevent the passage of fire, flooding, radiation, severe outside weather, steam releases as well as to maintain ventilation/pressure differentials from one side of the barrier to the other.
