The Transco Encapsulated Insulation system combines the durability of stainless steel cassettes with the heat transfer capabilities of non-reflective insulation. Similar in appearance to metal reflective insulation, encapsulated systems utilize materials such as mineral wool and glass fiber, instead of reflective foil layers, making it possible to achieve additional neutron absorption, greater economies, and lower heat loss. All Encapsulated Insulation materials are acceptable for use within containment.
