Control Room Habitability

Transco Products Inc. is recognized by the industry for its expertise in discovering and eliminating vulnerabilities present in both the architectural boundaries of habitability envelopes as well as those residing in their associated ventilation systems. The success of our work has been demonstrated via test to provide the level protection needed by control room operators and plant personnel to safely function as needed in the event of a release of air borne radiation or toxic gas.

Transco is a full-service company that provides repair solutions that in many cases require both non-traditional materials and innovative techniques.  Strong reliance on our many years of material and design development for specialty sealing applications for nuclear power and industrial applications allows us to make available the best “fix” for almost every type of vulnerability.  In almost all instances, costs are minimized since our methodology typically improves exiting construction and equipment without removal or replacement. Repairs by Transco are not cosmetic applications of sealing materials but rather careful work and inspection that leads to virtually permanent fix of the boundary and equipment.  Work is typically performed while plants are online.  As such, safety is stressed and continuously monitored for both the plant equipment as well as the worker.

Transco also offers final integrated testing of the envelope as part of the services provided to our customers.  Depending on the type of structure being treated, these services can include testing such as tracer gas testing, differential pressure tests, “blower-door” tests.  All testing is performed in accordance with recognized standards and codes and by professionals recognized for their expertise for these specific tests.
